I like this kind of work because its evocative. It makes you feel something. And it promotes discussion. Great example of artwork.

I can’t say that I care much for the balls or understand why he used them, but the quality of the photos are amazing…they almost look more like paintings than actual photos. I would love to know what sort of processing he did to get that effect.

I’m surprised only Jamal mentioned the Twinkies. The dots are interesting and all, but the Twinkies force you to consider the artist’s meaning.

I do appreciate what DeMarte is going for. I find that layering different elements can be really striking, especially when it is something as seemingly incongruent as bold colors splashed across an expansive natural background.

@Eric: That’s exactly what I was thinking! At what point did this concept occur to the artist? He has a photograph of a landscape, and is underwhelmed because it feels incomplete? Or maybe he just loves little circles, and needs a backdrop.
